Shareen Dato Abdul Ghani

Shareen is Co-Founder and Director of Sorga Innovation Sdn Bhd, a boutique advisory firm specialising in human capital/talent strategies and solutions. Sorga Innovation is the entity behind the creation of the gigxglobal.com a talent platform enabling the gig economy for professionals. Sorga Ventures is also spearheading the strategic aspects of sustainable development through responsible and impact investment initiatives. Driving solutions to meet the Sustainable Development Goals in Malaysia and the region.

Prior to founding Sorga Innovation, Shareen was Chief Executive Officer of Talent Corporation, a Malaysian government agency responsible for talent strategy and planning for the country. While in TalentCorporation, Shareen was instrumental in the design and execution of a national talent/human capital strategy and action plan with a focus on optimising top talent to meet demands of key economic growth sectors. She advocated and implemented strategic interventions in building the right talent ecosystems in response to global trends with particular focus on digitalisation, Industrial Revolution 4.0 and its impact on future of work. She champions the agenda of attracting, nurturing and retaining top talent in Malaysia, global Malaysians and global top talent to create Malaysia as a centre of excellence for high skilled talent. She actively advocate son progressive polices for future of work, women in leadership roles and in the workforce, diversity and inclusion, best practices in workplace and benchmarked Malaysia's workplace polices and practices globally. This contributed to improving Malaysia's ranking in the Global Competitiveness Index and Human Capital Development index 2016-2017. She has also executed youth programmes as a strategy to enable and engage young talent in the region and achieved positive impact at national, ASEAN and APEC levels.

From 2007-2016, Shareen was the Director of Corporate Responsibility at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, where she helped shape Khazanah's Corporate Sustainability mandate and lead the work on sustainability adjusted valuation for Khazanah's strategic investments. She also developed the corporate responsibility strategy for national level initiatives in Malaysia such as PINTAR Foundation (Education sector), Yayasan Sejahtera (Poverty Eradication) and GEMS Malaysia (Youth Employability Scheme). Prior to that, she was Chief Operations Officer at MERCY Malaysia, where she served in humanitarian missions to Darfur, Sri Lanka, Iran, Aceh and remote areas throughout Malaysia.

Shareen was a board member of the Geneva based Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (2009) and a recipient of the Pingat Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak for her contributions towards humanitarian service.

She holds a Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership from Cambridge University and Master in Public Policy from University Malaya. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Journalism/Mass Communications from University Sains Malaysia.
