Raphael studied History and Medical Physics and co-developed a patent in medical technology before becoming a lecturer in mathematical modeling. He is CEO and Founder of Jaipuna, the creators of Amy (www.amy.app), an Artificial Intelligence based private tutoring system for maths. He is passionate about the future of education and ensuring that this is evenly distributed around the world. He is actively involved in the development of the startup ecosystem and helped to establish Canterbury Angel Investors in New Zealand and mentors at Startup Weekends around the world. He received a global leadership award at the World Education Congress in 2017 and Amy is recognised as one of the Best New EdTech Start-Up by EdTech Asia 2019.
